Humans have found ways to explain the mysteries of the universe. One of these ways is learning more about astrology and zodiac signs.Every sign is a strong, essential component in the zodiac's puzzle. The four elements of air, fire, water, and earth combine to form a complete whole that manifests in your life as your own personality characteristics.
Although astrology is a very complicated field of study, the 12 well-known zodiac star signs serve as its core tenets. Each sign has evolved over time to have its own traits and connotations, such as mythology, animals, and colors. Each sign is lighted by a unique point of view, filled with potent benefits and wearying drawbacks. Astrology's main goal is to predict a person's future based on the placements of the planets and the zodiacal signs (the 12 astrological constellations) at the time of ones birth.
My project's goal is to create a brand of logos that defines each zodiac sign within their individuality. The conceptual and aesthetic decisions should support the ideas and voice of each horoscope sign and be evident in my project. In this project, I chose to create 12 posters each zodiac sign and an informational video of the history of astrology.
I decided to work with astrology, because I think this is an interesting new perspective of looking at the world and it also has been studied extensively throughout the beginning of time. My intention was to to reach my audience by creating an eye-catching piece that explains astrology in simpler terms. Astrology plays a role in this quest for narratives that humans have for weaving their past, current, and futures together through their expectations and aspirations. The branding of each individual zodiac sign and the story behind how astrology came to be will help guide them to learn more.

My piece's goal is to show my audience new ways of looking at the world and different theories of the universe. I want to create a better understanding of how the zodiac sign symbols came to be. People don't have to "believe in" astrology; for many people, it's just a pleasant way to observe the world around us and consider our connection to the vast, unfathomable universe that exists beyond it.

The four basic elements of effective design are contrast, repetition, alignment, and proximity. These can be found in any design. In my design I tried my best to implement these elements.I n general, the Gestalt principles help us understand how humans process visual information by either starting with the entirety and progressively working down to the parts or by attempting to break a large whole into its smaller component parts.
I decided to use closure in the gestalt principles, because I wanted my audience to be able to fill in some of the lines with their minds. In my piece, I also want to emphasize hierarchy and what the reader sees initially. Therefore, each zodiac's name would be presented first, then its contour line graphic, constellations, and qualities. The study of culturally and socially meaningful languages as well as other types of communication is a well-known field of study known as semiotics.
The fundamental tenet of it is that humans communicate meaning by using signs like words, both well spoken printed, pictures, clothes, and movements. To symbolize water, fire, air, and earth in my piece, I choose to utilize different shades of the same color. Because it is a sign for elements in the zodiac, this is considered semiotic. The zodiac symbols are also considered semiotic, because they are referencing a story and usually have to deal with the characteristics each horoscope is given. For example the Lion for Leo is given strength.
I believe my artwork was successful because the mixed colored ombre worked well as a background. I made the contour line symbols the center point because I thought they contributed so much to the artwork and conveying my message. I also think the fonts I used both work well together and are easy to read across the posters.
If I could go back in time and change something, I would explore working with more collage materials for my video piece, because I think it would help reflect what my piece is about. Overall, my biggest takeaway from this project was that in order to produce the finest design, it is critical to conduct extensive research on your topic and to massage out the fine details.
