Benadryl Packaging
Packaging is a type of design that combines three-dimensional and two-dimensional elements. It has a strong typographic foundation, but it also necessitates a designer's consideration of the technical and manufacturing limitations of printing and die-cutting. It necessitates thinking about presentation difficulties, such as how a design would look when filled with a product and piled in multiples on a shelf. Or how a product with the wrong side out could still work. My goal is to create a design that is eye-catching and provides safety of those who utilize our products. Abuse or overuse of this medicine, like any other, can result in serious side effects with long-term or even life-threatening consequences. At all times, drugs must be maintained out of the reach of children. The goal to provide safety to my customers will result in a value of trust in the product.
My concept for my project was to create minimal looking packages with a pop of colors such as shades of blue, orange and purple. I used more brighter and fun colors for the children's package and toned down the colors for the adult one. I was inspired to use shapes that implied flowers since that is what gives people allergies the most.I also decided to create a slight white floral background for an extra touch of texture. In general, I intended the project to be very sophisticated and fresh for my demographic to look at.
