Savage Vintage Manifesto

The goal of this project Savage Vintage is to create a visual representation of the true cost and dangers of fast fashion Fashion that is environmentally beneficial in its design, production, distribution, and use is referred to as sustainable fashion. As a result, a sustainable fashion sector must function in a way that will be effective in the decades and generations to come. Unfortunately, this is not the case with today's prevalent "fast fashion," which refers to clothing that is purposefully made to be consumed quickly at low prices.

Furthermore, consumers view clothing as disposable, wearing it only a few times before throwing it out or switching to newer and trendier cheap clothing. The fast fashion cycle is far from sustainable because it produces enormous amounts of waste, abuses workers all over the world, and rapidly depletes the planet's natural resources.

In this project, I intended to establish an ideal society where malls have secondhand shops selling recycled clothing, like the brand I created, "Savage Vintage." This in turn motivates people to break the fast fashion cycle and begin making changes that are more environmentally friendly. Some ways we can take action to be more sustainable is by buying clothing produced that are recycled, up-cycled, purchasing secondhand or thrifted.

Since I started my blog, my vision has been to inspire people to buy more sustainable clothes that are good for the environment. My goal is to provide blogs on way we can be more sustainable together. I’m here to guide you through a range of ways to take action with stories, tips and insights. I hope to motivate you to take more care of our environmental impact on the world.

Savage Vintage Manifesto

Savage Vintage Manifesto

There is a long tradition of expressing one's values in a manifesto, both within and outside of the design community. Manifestos can be serious, humorous, or ironic; they can also be a call to arms, a challenge, or both.

They have influenced the way that design is done and have changed the world. Some discuss the designer's place in culture and sustainability. Others serve to define civil rights or to mobilize people. The goal is to create a manifesto document as well as a visual, an event, or another format to spread your ideas.

The conceptual and aesthetic decisions should support the ideas and voice of my manifesto and be evident in both parts of your project. The ensuing publication and promotion should appear to be a component of an ideological framework.

The Manifesto I chose was First Things First written by Ken Garland and various other artists. The manifesto was intended to serve as a warning that funds pouring into visual communications of all kinds appeared to be going in the wrong directions. Designers could have focused on a variety of different topics, but didn’t. He hardly anticipated it to spark any attention, but he instead received a lot of good response.

This Manifesto is written for Graphic Designers to think more mindfully about where they are focusing their work and profession on. Some questions to ask these designers: Are they focusing on material goods? Or are they focusing it on non-profit organizations or something that has a greater impact? It is also written for corporation owners to think about how they can incorporate major cultural issues into their advertisements. This would help to not only make their company more trustworthy, but also make their audience more aware of the world. This manifesto should be able to apply to a wide range of audiences.

My media will is an instagram/blog and an installation piece. I decided on a social media website for the manifesto since I believe that it mostly focuses on material possessions. Therefore, the advertising industry and publications come to mind when I think about material items. I decided on an installation art project for the promotional component so that I could make a statement and demonstrate my argument.
