Futuristic Currency Project

It's difficult to picture a world without banknotes or paper money as digital technologies become more deeply embedded in the world, making more and more parts of existence intangible. Money has evolved over time to become more than just a means of payment, but also a symbol of society. Currency is one of the most important objects to design since it combines function with uniqueness. This project’s objective is to build six different money denominations for the United States. Our team, (Shengyang Liu, Kaitlyn Hiavacek and I) as a whole decided to focus on the concept of futuristic money (around 3000 or above). Future cities, planet landscapes, city views, spacecraft, and other aspects were among those we opted to incorporate. We also chose to base each denomination of money on a different planet from our solar system.

Futuristic Money

Our intention was to make a future currency and face the market of future society. The reason why we chose to make a future theme (universe theme) is because we did not want to repeat existing versions of currency such as people’s heads or animals etc. The concept of it is how we predict the future cities, lives, and views based on nowadays life. We hope that the currency could show a strong aura of a futuristic society, and we created this group of currency which contains a background story along with it.

PLANET SHORT STORIES:

($5.00)MARS- Mars is the Sun's fourth planet, a sandy, frigid, desert globe with a scant atmosphere. Regions, icecaps, gorges, and dead volcanoes are all indications that Mars was once considerably more active. In the year 3022, humans have miraculously discovered a safe way to travel to mars and start a new colony there.Humans have also discovered other forms of life, such as the old legend of aliens on Mars. We now share our world with them in exchange for them sharing theirs with us.  Humans currently travel to Mars for reasons such as an alternative vacation spot, more scientific research, and to interact and get to know our alien friends.

($10.00)URANUS- Uranus is the seventh planet from the Sun. Its name is a reference to the Greek god of the sky, Uranus, who, according to Greek mythology, was the great-grandfather of Ares (Mars), grandfather of Zeus (Jupiter) and father of Cronus (Saturn). It has the third-largest planetary radius and fourth-largest planetary mass in the Solar System. The temperature on this planet is dramatically low, even a few times lower than the south pole, therefore people are not going to live on this “ice” ball. However, people built several large space prisons there, in this case, the most dangerous and crazy space criminals will be sent under guard there, the whole process will be “vacuum transfer” to block the extreme cold blows. The reason why it is the best option is because if the prisoners break out, they will immediately turn to an ice cube.

($2.00)VENUS- Being one of the two planets next to earth in our solar system, Venus was the second planet to be reached by humankind. Lifeforms on Venus are capable of shapeshifting, which led to some controversy in the late 2990s to early 3010s. Humans and Venusian shapeshifters were eventually able to put aside their differences, though, and many migrated to and found jobs on earth. Some humans work on Venus as well, but only those that can handle hotter temperatures.

($100.00)NEPTUNE- In contrast to the hazy, relatively featureless atmosphere of Uranus, Neptune's atmosphere has active and visible weather patterns. For example, at the time of the Voyager 2 flyby in 1989, the planet's southern hemisphere had a Great Dark Spot comparable to the Great Red Spot on Jupiter. More recently, in 2018, a newer main dark spot and smaller dark spot were identified and studied. In addition, these weather patterns are driven by the strongest sustained winds of any planet in the Solar System, with recorded wind speeds as high as 2,100 km/h (580 m/s; 1,300 mph). Because of the extreme cold weather like Uranus, people did not choose to build a community there, instead they built a lot of electric power stations there, taking advantage of the biggest wind power in the universe. It also became one of the famous electric stations in the universe's transportation system that spaceships from all over the space could stop there and charge their batteries.

($50.00)MERCURY- Once humans found a way to make it to Mercury, they found that it was void of life. The land was perfect for installing large solar panels. After some recent engineering advancements, humans developed technology that transfers thus energy over long distances, and Mercury has become a battery for earth and neighboring inhabited planets.

($1.00)MARS- Mars is the Sun's fourth planet, a sandy, frigid, desert globe with a scant atmosphere.
